Each person is unique and we would need to work together to find the approach that works best for you. On the positive side, the evidence indicates that we would be starting from a position of strength.
Research indicates that therapy helps many people. In fact, research shows that talk therapy is more cost-effective than psychiatric medications for both depression and anxiety, especially in preventing future episodes. Furthermore, psychologists have a very high level of education and professional training. We train for many years, with many hours of supervision, to learn how to effectively assess and meet client needs. We work with a wide variety of clients: I have successfully worked with patients in psychiatric hospitals, inmates and parolees, people in the community, and workers and executives who simply want to improve their quality of life.
There are no guarantees that therapy will work--- no health practitioner can make that claim. Even listing testimonials only lets you know how others did--- not what will work for you. I prefer to work with clients in the most efficient and effective way possible--- fine-tuned to each client’s needs. Success for me is when you move on with your life, applying the skills and insights from our work to your future.
